What are your typical clients?

During the majority of my clinical experience I have worked heavily with adults ranging in age from 20-60 yrs. Although I do have experience working with youth/adolescents as well, my primary clientele have been adults.

I work with clients dealing with an array of symptoms including but not limited to the following: anxiety/panic, depression, PTSD, identity concerns, perfectionism, boundaries/co-dependency, relationship concerns, Trauma (emotional, physical, and sexual abuse), guilt/shame, and life transitions.

I also have a particular passion for working with any client who is in a helping field (first responders, healthcare workers, etc.) or anyone who has experienced work-related trauma. It is my passion to help people who are helping others, because it is my belief that if we serve these populations well we are not only helping them improve but we can positively effect every single person they touch as a result of their job. Allowing them to bring their best selves to work, helps to improve services for all of society.

Also please note: I am not an expert witness as defined by the legal system and I do not provide custody evaluations.

What is your counseling style?

When it comes to session format, I tend to allow the client to explore the modality that is best suited for the individual. I utilize the techniques and modalities that would be appropriate based on what the client hopes to gain during their experience in counseling.

The modalities I primarily utilize are listed below along with a brief description of each. Please feel free to click the “Contact” tab at the top of this screen if you have further questions about specific services or modalities. I would love to answer any questions to make sure I am a good fit for you.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy focuses on identifying and shifting thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep individuals cycling through the same patterns. This form of therapy aims to help clients identify desired change and to find effective/creative solutions to get them where they want to be.

Person-Centered Therapy uses a non-authoritative approach that allows clients to take the lead in discussions so that, in the process, they will discover their own solutions. This form of therapy allows the provider to take the stance of compassionate care and offer safety in a judgement free environment.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing or EMDR is a form of treatment used primarily to treat Trauma. EMDR focuses on the integration of neuropsychology, the mind body connection, coping methods, and grounding techniques tailored specifically to you.
